Lighthouse, day of lines, beds

On Sunday most things were closed (though we didnt realize their malls are actually still open, we thought they were closed bc that is how Norway is but I am pleased to find out that I can shop if I want too), so we looked for outdoor things to explore. Our plan was to check out swimming beaches on the lake, but though it was around 80 the previous two days, we woke up to very cold 60s as the high so we changed our plans. We went to a small fishing town by the Baltic Sea and were able to walk up inside a lighthouse...

That was the view from inside

Monday we were off to Uppsala 1.5 hrs away to apply for residency in Sweden. They had very limited summer hours (12-3 Mon-Wed only). When we made it there at 12:30, it was crowded and their usual system of taking a number was broken so you had to chose a line to wait in for what felt like an hour but was probably more like 45 min. Then we drove back to our town, and decided that we would look for new beds for Alex and Ben since we were thinking of it anyway, and if we got them now, we could stay in the house once we check out of this hotel. After looking in a few stores, we found two at IKEA that could be delivered today. We ordered them, then the lady told me even if I was having them delivered I had to go to pick them up in the warehouse part of IKEA then pay then drop them off at delivery. Needless to say three carts of beds/bedding through a check outline was complicated enough then this lady trying to help lines along decides to "help" us by moving us to the self-check lane where the stations are so close together we were getting in everyone's way and I think we stood out like a family circus:)

Today we got our beds and I tried to ask the delivery guy to bring the mattresses up stairs, but he claimed he was breaking rules just bringing them in the house. (It was extra for installing furniture). Anyway I managed to get one bed upstairs alone while the boys had walked to the park by their school and when they came back, they helped me with the other. They were very excited!
Swedish IKEA beds!!!

It is a very quiet town now, we don't see kids around but we think most are on vacation for a couple more weeks.

We are a little tired of eating out so we bought groceries for lunches that we don't need cooking tools to make but will eat dinner out until we get our stuff.

Alex and Ben noticing the portion sizes are smaller:)

Alex and Ben bagging their own groceries and you have to pay for your plastic bags here too.

Our open sandwiches with ham and cucumbers:) yum!!!
