We are starting to accumulate groceries now that we have to eat here, and ate getting very creative for dinner without cooking supplies. Here is a peak at the fridge so far...
I asked Thomas to give me a small tour of the grocery store, so I didn't have to sample everything to find the things we like, but overall it's a great grocery store. I wasn't sure which kind of milk, or butter, or things like that, but we thought we found Greek yogurt that we liked so Ben and I each bought one to try...
Turns out its rice pudding with berries...wasn't our favorite:) but I really should have known bc ris is rice in Norwegian, but I figured Risifrutti was just a brand name:)
They don't have the same sweeteners here, and it's looks like equal equivalents here which I don't like the best, so I have bought sugar for now for coffee, but the funny thing is its really in cubes, like Bugs Bunny when I was little...."One lump, or two?"
The first night in the house we had pizza takeout, but the second night, Thomas grilled hot dogs for us. How did he do that without our stuff yet? He remembered when he was back in Norway that you could buy disposable grills (probably for camping) at the gas station so we checked and sure enough they had them. The hot dogs were great and the kids loved helping.
We also checked out the local league's soccer game yesterday and it was really fun! It is a professional league but this team isn't a top team, so the crowd is about 800 people, but this friendly waiter at this restaurant we had been eating at a few times knew we were new in town so gave us the tickets to check it out. We will definitely go again when they are in town.
We get our furniture tomorrow and I can't wait to finally settle. I will upload pics of the house when we put some furniture in it:)
Email me or message me in Facebook if you have a chance I would really love to hear from everybody!!!
