Friends made!

Alex and Ben had met these two boys their age that live past our back yard while on our visit in February. We saw Anton on Friday, but Samuel was at a soccer tournament. We knew he was back on Monday and so we stopped by (not knowing if it was appropriate to do that here), with a Nike shirt we brought him from US. We planned on inviting both boys to come play.

The mom, Catherina, ended up inviting me in for coffee and the boys played there on the trampoline for awhile. Then after they came to our house for a while and there was even one more boy (I think his name is Olaf but they call him Olé.)

We have a large collection on nerf guns so they started a nerf war!

They had a great time and even stayed for snacks, then Catherina came for Anton and told me she had talked to his soccer coach and invited Ben to try out the practice they had that night.

About 19 kids were there for the first practice of the season, but there are about 30 total and four coaches. I understand about two teams come from this group. 

Ben is doing practice drills with a teammate from Australia (I think they paired them up since he could speak English). 

During practice, Samuel and Alex hung out. Samuel brought a "futbol" (soccer ball) and Alex brought an American football. They hung the whole time playing both sports. 

Alex and Samuel schemed after to spend more time together and Samuel came to our house after soccer until 7:30...dinner time:) (we have been eating later here, maybe it's typical here, bc Samuel went home then to eat dinner too.)

The boys had a great day! You could tell they were so happy to hang with other kids. Samuel and Olé speak great English and Anton hasn't learned as much but tries and seems to understand a lot too.
